Many players are angry about what happened at the end of July (and rightly so). Players are looking for someone to blame, someone they can take action against. But like the angry lynch mob, most are uninterested in truth or facts and the ones that are are virtually powerless to stop them. The mob wants blood, not justice.

An important factor in persuading someone is how much the person likes you. If the person hates you, they probably resent you and are very unlikely to listen to what you have to say. So despite having a perfectly logical argument, you would have very little success, if any at all, in persuading that person. Keep that simple thought in mind next time you write something on the forums.

I'm not here to tell you to lay down your arms and give up. I'm not asking you to hold hands and sing songs with the opposition. I come to you all now to ask you to choose your words carefully and to think with a level head. Analyze yourself honestly and really try to understand what your goals are. Decide whether your actions are appropriate for reaching those goals. If you are only after blood and you want to see another player or group of players suffer for something they may or may not have had anything to do with, then continue your smear campaigns, name calling, berating, and insulting. You will fail at winning a single one of these players to your side.

But if you have any interest at all in truth and justice, I urge you to wait for more facts. The possibility does exist that we may never know the full story of what went down, but the truth has a way of getting out. At the very least, you'll have more facts to work with later than you do now, along with cooler heads. I know their words make you burn inside, but it takes real strength of character to subdue your anger. It is not an easy thing to do, but don't sink to their level and participate in the mindless flames and name calling. The results will be far greater than you could have imagined.
