Equipment Pages Update

The weapons, armors, and shields pages have all received much-needed makeovers.

In addition to fitting in with the new look of the site, the filters no longer require page reloads. The processing is now done on the client side via JavaScript. Depending on the speed of your computer, there will still be some delay while the processing takes place, but latency (once the page initially loads) will no longer be an issue. A small message will appear on the top-right of your browser to indicate that the page is processing the data. I have a somewhat beefy computer, but hopefully it will run acceptably on slower computers too. If the processing is taking too long, please let me know.

This update isn't without a few casualties. I got rid of the shop data (chance, average refreshes, average camp time) from all 3 pages. The columns wouldn't all fit (moreso on the weapons/armors pages than the shields page) into the page with the new layout. I don't think anyone will miss those columns much though anyway. Also, I had to remove some of the filtering options on the weapons page. You can no longer enter your own stats to see how far away you are from different weapons. The processing load required to scan and update the list was just too much, even on my computer. In its place, however, I did put in a max str/dex filter (and dex one for shields too).

i love how the new weapons page updates and that and nice to see that you are advancing on your site becuase it has always been awesome help

but can you leave the part where we know how much stat points we need to get to the next weap? its kinda a good guide to see what weapon you should aim for next and where you should place your points i guess. just what i miss from the old weapons page thats all =]

As for the weapon filter I'd taken out, yeah, I'll play around with that a bit. I had to remove it because it was just too slow to be run client-side. Even on my computer, updating the list took 5-10 seconds. That's unacceptable in my eyes. Apparently it's one thing to run down the weapon list and put it in order or hide/show some of the rows, but a whole different story when you need to write to it. That doesn't mean it's not possible though. There are some hacks/workarounds I didn't really try, so I'll see if there's any speed to be squeezed out of some various optimizations I've in mind.

I'm moving back to school tonight and classes start Monday, so there's going to be more demands on my time again soon unfortunately. I'll try to get around to it sometime next week.
